The Kindness of Strangers...
I am constantly blown away by the kindness of mumpreneurs. When using a word like business it brings to mind words like impersonal and ruthless but when mums are in the equation, business is a pleasure. All I have ever experienced is generosity and benevolence.
Examples of such generosity in recent times have come in the form of Sam Jones of Sam Jones Photography who ran a Twitter session for me and then offered to pay for her place (!), Sally Walker of Sally Walker Media Labs who replied to a tweet of mine with an offer of SEO help, gratis, and Trish Gant
of Little Gems Photography who recently did my head shot for me (see above) as I didn't have one!
There was not one request for anything in return, not even a mention in this newsletter (which, ironically, guaranteed them a mention!), so I immediately ran out and started recommending them to everyone. So, the moral of this tale? What goes around does come around and a little kindness goes a long way.

back to top Easy Cooking for Busy Families
More and more parents are aware of the danger processed foods pose to their children’s development. That’s why so they would like to cook home-made food more often, but it’s not always easy to fit into a busy lifestyle.
At Menus4Mums we help busy parents ditch the takeaways and ready meals and serve up tasty, healthy food for their families. Here are our top tips:
Tip 1: Cook just one meal for the whole family. You can take out portions for small children before adding salt and strong spices, and you’ll be getting them used to the concept of eating the same as the rest of the family. You’ll also be saving on gas/electricity, not to mention your time.
Tip 2: Cook meals in bulk. If you are making a Tomato Pasta Sauce, make twice or three times as much and freeze what you don’t need.
Tip 3: Use Quick Cook Ingredients. For quick dinners centre meals around diced chicken breast, mince, fish, pasta, noodles and rice.
Tip 4: Slow Cook. Slow cookers are great for taking cheaper cuts of meat and turning them into succulent meals when you get in from work. They’re not just for stews – you can make a wonderfully tasty Bolognese Sauce.
back to top I'm-not-getting-enough-done-itis
I was ill today. I had come down with that disease all mums suffer from on a regular basis; I'm-not-getting-enough-done-itis. You know that illness where you look about you and wonder what you've done with your day and kick yoursef that you still haven't gotten to the ironing, or the accounting, or the many millions of things that populate your to-do list on a regular basis. I was stressed thinking of how little I had done and how much I had to do.
And then it struck me, I was focussing on the negatives, when I should be taking note of all I had achieved. And so, for one day I decided I would do just that. And this is what I came up with...
